Core Values
Our Motivation is Love
Of all motives, love is the greatest. Whereas fear asks the question, “What will I lose?” and hope asks, “What will I gain?” - love always asks, “What will I give?” When God the Father willingly gave His Son to atone for the sins of man, He demonstrated the ultimate in sacrificial Love.
“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”
1 Corinthians 13:13.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16.
Our Method is Service
To love, then, is to serve. We measure our effectiveness by how well we meet real needs of real people in real time. Servant leadership is our model of response to others and our responsibility toward God.
“Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave-- just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."
Matthew 20:26-28.
Our Purpose is Redemption
Redemption is the process of buying back what has been forgotten, forfeited or forsaken, i.e., lost. And it is people who are lost - through their own sin and sins committed against them.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
Romans 3:23-24.
Our Goal is Freedom
Success is being able to point to people who were once bound up in dishonoring, self-defeating, others-harming behavior, whose lives are being transformed by the power of God through their faith in Jesus Christ and the work of the Holy Spirit. Only those who are free can in turn love, serve, and join with God in the redemption of others.
“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.”
Galatians 5:1.
