"Get Out of Ourselves and Develop Lasting Friendships"

"The Barn" to me is not simply a meeting place for men to hang out. The Barn is a place where men learn what it means to come alive. When I moved here to South Carolina about three years ago, I was in need of some Godly men in my life. I decided to check out what The Barn was all about after receiving an email from Kevin Casner inviting me to participate in a Wild at Heart series at The Barn. I had no idea that it would be a place for me to connect with other men on a regular basis. Another thing I found is that not only did I need input in my life from other men; I also needed to share my life with them in return. In addition, one fact about The Barn that still amazes me is that it has no official affiliation with a particular church and that several churches are represented through the men that come to The Barn. That fact alone is mostly unheard of for any Christian gathering; just men coming together to find out what it means to come alive and help each other achieve that, no other agenda... simply amazing! I am truly blessed and honored to be associated with The Barn.

As personal testimony, I now meet with other men on a regular basis outside of The Barn, as a result of coming to The Barn. Kevin lovingly prodded us several times to find some other men and meet with them outside of The Barn to get out of ourselves and develop lasting friendships. I am glad that I took him up on that offer, because I am beginning to develop stronger friendships with a group of men who meet once a week outside of The Barn. In addition, many men came to the aid of me and my family when we were in a tight crunch financially, more than once. I believe that The Barn truly is what God meant for Christianity to be, men being real and coming alive together, knowing that we cannot do it alone. I can say that I am more alive now having been a part of The Barn, than before The Barn was in my life.

I am truly grateful for The Barn and all the men there, what a wonderful journey it has been to come alive with so many great men of God.
